Fundamental Sketching and Engineering Drawing

Standards

In this task, students will use the simulation to create simple isometric drawings.

Standard 10: Building on the knowledge of a two-dimensional drawing, create simple isometric (3-D Pictorial) drawings, properly using lines (e.g., object, hidden, center), labels and dimensioning techniques.

Upon successful completion of these tasks students will demonstrate the ability to:

1. Explain how different components of engineering drawings fit together.
2. Create simple isometric drawings.

• Explain the significance of dimensioning techniques.

Isometric Drawing Activity

This activity will allow students to apply what they learned during the lesson to a hands-on inquiry-based activity.

1. Use the simulation to practice creating the letters on the attached handout as isometric drawings following the guidelines of the handout.
2. Once practice is complete do the attached handout.
