Task Description

Standards

In this task, students will create an original storyboard using a storyboard simulator.

Standard 14: Explain the components and function of storyboards for A/V productions. Search for short scripts or draw excerpts from larger texts in order to analyze and prepare them for conversion into storyboards. For the identified production, create an original storyboard based on the written script.

Upon successful completion of these tasks students will demonstrate the ability to:

 

  • explain the components and functions of storyboards for A/V productions;
  • create an original storyboard based on a written script.

 

To move students towards deeper understanding, they should be given opportunities to:

 

  • draw excerpts from large texts and prepare them for conversion into storyboards.

This activity will require students to apply what they learned during the lesson or lecture on storyboards to a hands-on activity.

Storyboard Creation Task

 

  1. The teacher will give the class three real world storyboard subject options.

For example: Virtual Learning, Bullying, Vacation, etc. (you may use these or come up with your own)

 

  1. Students will create a storyboard using the predetermined storyboard creator platform.

 

  1. The storyboard must include:
  • Project Name/Subject
  • 7-10 slide boxes
  • Each slide box must include beneath it, the action and/or the voice over (what’s going on in the slide)
  • Each slide box must include a background and props to identify the setting
  • The storyboard must be numbered and follow in sequential order
  • The storyboard must give a graphic representation of your idea
